Our Charity

OCEF – The Charity We Support!

Here at Shelton Wedding Dresses, we support the Overseas China Education Fund (OCEF). This fund is a non-profit organization that sets up schools and education systems in rural and improved parts of China.

OCEF operates in 18 provinces and autonomous regions in China. Since OCEF’s conception in October 1992, they have subsidized education in 84 schools, of which more than 70% reside in state and provincially recognized impoverished areas.

OCEF’s primary goal is to raise the education standards in rural china, giving higher middle school education to impoverished areas where children have founded it difficult to even reach the standards of compulsory education deemed by the Chinese Government.

OCEF is also devoted to developing Library and School Construction Projects in rural China. In 2004, OCEF constructed a total of five schools and in 2005, a total of two schools.

The teachers in these schools are volunteers who work tirelessly to help the local rural children to reach their true potential.

OCEF currently have 1,500 members and 200 volunteers in China and North America.

Why OCEF?

Shelton Wedding Dresses have chosen to support OCEF because firstly our team of dressmakers and managers is Chinese. Secondly, because we believe in giving back to the community and helping children to achieve their potential.

Coming from a Chinese background, our team understands how impoverished conditions are in rural china, and if we can provide a little help to children in these areas to give them hope of a brighter future, it is our greatest pleasure and reward.
